Who's teaching...

Phnom Penh Pswings!
was cooked up by Robyn Zellar, who started dreaming of starting a swing scene in Cambodia the minute she landed an art teaching gig in Phnom Penh.  She learned how to Lindy Hop with Adam & River of Swing Beijing! in 2005 and has attended several swing camps around the world, including Seajam with Frankie Manning in Singapore (twice), Swinglandia in Ukraine, and Beantown Swing Camp in Beverly, MA, USA.  She performed with the Dancing Pandas in China and with Step Step Triple Step in Boston.  Robyn earned the nickname "Mama Swing" because she took care of her fellow swing dancers with homemade cookies (not easy to come by in China).  She has been teaching lindy hop to middle schoolers since 2007, and is now excited to be teaching "grown-ups" here in the Penh. Bringing the love of swing to this city has been a riot so far--and she hopes more Cambodians will continue to join the group as time goes by.

Performing with her teacher, Adam Lee, in Beijing.

Jared Wood burst onto the Phnom Penh swing scene in November 2009, after being inspired by the visiting dancers of Swing Beijing and Saigon Swings during our big kick-off at Equinox Bar.  Jared has brushed up his lindy hop skills at the Vietnam Lindy Exchange, with the masters of swing in Seoul, in his hometown of Wellington, New Zealand, here in the Penh with Janice Wilson and Zazou Swing...and most recently, he added Herrang Dance Camp to his list of hot training spots!  If you want to smile, let this man swing you out!
